5.2/10

The hotel had a shocking drains smell in the rooms, and transitioning from a double to a twin was not ideal. However, the location couldn't have been better, offering proximity to all the main attractions while staying in a quiet area. The dining experience was poor, with limited options and unpleasant smells, but the hotel's facilities were decent.

7.4/10

The hotel offers a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms are reasonably large but can be stuffy, and the buffet breakfast setup could be improved. However, the service is excellent after finding the staff, and the location is ideal for exploring the town. Dining options are satisfactory with room for improvement.

Upon arrival, the hotel didn't tell us what floor we were on, but the room turned into a suite with a separate sitting room and en suite, which was a pleasant surprise. However, there was a shocking drains smell that we didn't address until departure.

Rooms
7.0
The room had a shocking drains smell, but it was turned into a suite with a separate sitting room and en suite, which was a pleasant surprise. It was small in size.
Service
6.0
The staff kindly found us another room and were honest about the problem, although they seemed to have no idea how to serve guests efficiently, as they had to do multiple jobs at once – receptionist, barman, and waitress.
Location
8.0
The location is perfect, just a couple of minutes from Piece Hall and ideal for exploring the town center and local attractions. However, the dining area felt more like a canteen than a fine dining experience.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was a little disappointing as the food was not cooked fresh and was mostly on a buffet trolley. The limited options included various tinned fruits and basic ingredients for toast.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offers basic facilities like room service, housekeeping, and a welcome drink. However, the dining options were subpar with no fresh dishes.
